TRUCKING LEGENDS SERIES

Our latest series of books was introduced in August 2005. The TRUCKING LEGENDS SERIES is dedicated to certain lorry marques and models that either defined a certain period in road transport history, or were mould breaking because of their design and performance. Such vehicles gained their reputations from both drivers and operators alike.

Trucking Legends Series Titles Published:

VOLVO F88 & F89 AT WORK - Written by Patrick W. Dyer.
ISBN 1-902356-15-2.

Rarely has a lorry made such a dramatic impact on the British road haulage scene as the legendary Volvo F88. When introduced here in 1968 it was a revelation, setting unprecedented high standards of driver comfort, with a cab that was both roomy and quiet. Not only were these imposing Volvos comfortable, they were also powerful and reliable. This reliability and tough construction resulted in service periods and longevity that established Volvo’s reputation for premium quality vehicles. Volvo broke the mould by proving that it was possible to build a lorry that had equal appeal for both drivers and haulage bosses alike.

Confirmed Volvo F88 fan Patrick W. Dyer, has researched the Volvo F88 and its close stable mate the Volvo F89, from inception to replacement by Volvo F10 / F12 models. Patrick has assembled a fascinating series of photographs depicting these legendary lorries doing what they were meant to do, hauling freight. This is a book that every Volvo enthusiast will need to own.

Containing 128 pages with 150 photographs of which over 120 are reproduced in full colour, VOLVO F88 & F89 AT WORK is a landscape hardback book. Price £18.00
